Ramón Gómez de la Serna is one of the most important voices of Spanish literature of the XXth century. He wrote over a hundred books spanning poetry, theater, short stories, and novels. Yet, he is best remembered today for inventing a genre entirely his own: the greguería.
Greguerías, as Ramón explained, are the fusion of humor + metaphor—sharp, witty one-liners that capture the magic hidden in the everyday. They are tiny explosions of insight, humor, and wonder.
